Secretary of Homeland Security honors ICE officers from 2025 Dallas facility shooting

United States Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin recognized and honored the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers who were on scene during the fatal 2025 Dallas ICE facility shooting on Monday afternoon.

On September 24, 2025, a shooter opened fire on an ICE facility in Dallas from the roof or elevated position of an adjacent building.

Three detainees in a van in the facility’s sally port were shot.

Two of the victims died in the attack and the third detainee was injured.

The shooter, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No ICE officers were hurt in the shooting.
