One injured in Saginaw officer involved shooting
One man was taken to the hospital after being shot, Saginaw PD said.
by Lucy Ladis · 5 NBCDFWOfficials are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Saginaw on Thursday.
Saginaw Police officers said they arrived at the 1300 block of North Creek Drive at approximately 7:50 a.m. to attempt to serve a felony arrest warrant.
Officers contacted the wanted man and attempted to arrest him. The man resisted arrest and then physically confronted officers, according to a statement from Saginaw PD.
During the altercation, an officer fired their weapon, striking the man, police said.
Officers rendered aid, and the man was transported to a local hospital in an ambulance. Police said his condition is unknown at this time.
The Texas Rangers are on the scene conducting an independent investigation. The Saginaw Police Department confirmed they will conduct a separate, but parallel investigation.
