FC Dallas defeated the Seattle Sounders, 1-0, thanks to a second-half goal from defender Kaick Da Silva Ferreira.

Seattle had more possession, shots, and big chances created, but Dallas won more duels and saved more shots.

Dallas (14-8-7) is close to clinching a playoff spot with 50 points. Vancouver has clinched its spot with 52 points, which leads the Western Conference.

Nashville is top of the East with 66 points in 29 matches played.

This is Dallas' 10th win against Western Conference opponents. This also evens the season series at 1-1, with 2 goals each. Seattle won the first meeting 2-1 in April.

Dallas needs help from Portland, Salt Lake, San Diego, or Colorado to officially clinch. All three of those teams are playing after FC Dallas on Wednesday.

Dallas is headed to Houston to play the Dynamo at Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday night.

Seattle (11-10-8) hosts Montreal on Saturday night.
