Woman arrested at Dallas Love Field with 75 pounds of marijuana in 3 suitcases

Police said the woman was traveling from Las Vegas when detectives found the drugs in three suitcases.

Dallas Police arrested a woman at Dallas Love Field Airport on Thursday after narcotics detectives found three suitcases full of marijuana, police say.

Police said they were notified by an airline that a bag had broken open and a large amount of marijuana was visible inside. Narcotics detectives were dispatched and they uncovered two additional suitcases with the drug packed inside in vacuum-sealed pouches.

Dallas Police said they identified the passenger as 25-year-old Jennifer Manzanares-Herrera and took her into custody. Manzanares-Herrera was traveling from Las Vegas back to North Texas when she was detained. She now faces a charge of possession of between 50 and 2,000 pounds of marijuana, which is a second-degree felony.

Manzanares-Herrera is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $25,000 bond. It's unclear if she's obtained an attorney to speak on her behalf.
