Teen killed in Fort Worth shooting, police say
Police say the shooting was accidental.
by Dominga Gutierrez · 5 NBCDFWA 16-year-old died Sunday after a shooting at a Fort Worth apartment, according to police.
Police were called to the scene at an apartment community in the 6600 block of South Hulen around 5:17 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say two 16-year-olds were in an apartment when one of them accidentally fired a gun, striking the victim.
The victim was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead, police say.
The suspect was detained, according to police.
Homicide detectives were notified and will investigate what led to the shooting.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased and determine the official cause and manner of death.
