California man with guillotine in bed of truck arrested near U.S. Capitol

The 35-year-old man was arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon, police said.

A California man with a guillotine in the bed of his pickup truck was arrested near the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, U.S. Capitol Police said.

Officers noticed the guillotine when they came across the pickup parked illegally in the 100 block of East Capitol Street at around 3 p.m., police said. The guillotine was seized by authorities.

Philan-Tam-Duy Le, a 35-year-old man from Julian, California, was arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon, authorities said.

Police said he drove to D.C. from California. They are investigating why he came to D.C.
