An Ellis County woman is facing two capital murder charges after authorities say she fatally shot her two sons inside their home on Thursday morning.

Deputies with the Ellis County Sheriff's Office responded around 4:13 a.m. to the 900 block of Big Sky Drive in Waxahachie after a 911 call reporting an unknown emergency, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

When deputies arrived and entered the home, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

One victim, identified as Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, of Waxahachie, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim, a 15-year-old boy, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Investigators said he later died from his injuries. The family has identified the 15-year-old as Brian Pitre, the younger brother of Chris Pitre.

Deputies also found the victims' mother, Colleen Nichole Lemmon, 42, with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to a probable cause narrative, dispatchers received a 911 call hang up but were able to get the caller back on the line.

"Dispatch was able to get the caller back on the line and a female said all units were needed. Dispatch could not get the caller to clarify what was going on and the caller disconnected again," the narrative states.

Deputies responded and say they could hear a woman yelling to get more units and when she looked out a window, could see she had blood on her hands. They made entry into the home, and when asked where the blood came, "she said something to the effect of "l shot both my kids"," the narrative said.

The brothers were found in separate bedrooms with gunshot wounds to the head. Chris Pitre died at the scene and Brian Pitre died at a hospital

Lemmon was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment. After being released from the hospital, she was booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie.

She has been charged with two counts of capital murder. Bond had not yet been set pending arraignment.

Authorities said the victims' father has been notified of both deaths.

By phone Friday, Scott Pitre, the victim's father, told NBC 5 he had just celebrated Brian's 15th birthday with him at the lake on Sunday and now wants to be the voice for justice for his sons.

Their funerals are planned for next week.

"My deepest sympathies go out to the victims' father, family members, and loved ones involved in this tragic incident," Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman said in a statement. "They will remain in our prayers during this difficult time."
