Former Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is one of several rookies who played high school or college football in Texas. They are now gearing up for the 2026 NFL season.

Tyson was selected 8th overall. He had a monster senior year for Allen, catching 79 passes for 1,499 yards and 12 touchdowns, then played his freshman year at Colorado and spent three years at Arizona State. But he appeared in only 33 games in his college career.

The Cleveland Browns selected two players with Texas ties. KC Concepcion of Texas A&M was selected 24th overall; Taylen Green of Lewisville was selected 182nd overall.

Concepcion transferred to A&M in 2024 after two years at NC State. He's projected to play mostly slot receiver in the pros, due to his size.

Former Denton Ryan star Anthony Hill, Jr., was selected 60th overall by the Tennessee Titans.

Hill was a five-star recruit at Denton Ryan and was rated the second-best linebacker in the nation in the Class of 2023. He had 303 tackles, 13 sacks and nine forced fumbles, while also rushing for 378 yards and 13 touchdowns over three years at Denton Ryan, and he won a state championship in 2020 while leading the team in tackles (7.5), tackles for loss (2.0) and sacks (2.0) and scoring a rushing touchdown in a 59-14 win over Cedar Park in the state final.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected LSU's Garrett Nussmeier to potentially back up current star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is also from Texas.

Nussmeier was a four-star recruit at Flower Mound Marcus and was rated the 14th-best quarterback in the nation in the Class of 2021. His father, Doug Nussmeier, is the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints and was previously the quarterbacks coach for the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and for the Cowboys.

The Minnesota Vikings selected Charles Demmings from Mesquite with the 163rd pick. Demmings attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches.

Texas A&M's Ar'maj Reed-Adams was selected in the 7th round by the Buffalo Bills. He's from DeSoto.

Several teams also posted their rookies' jersey numbers.

The Dallas Cowboys will kick off the season on NBC's Sunday Night Football against the New York Giants at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.

The full NFL schedule will be released on Thursday night, May 14.
