Costco Customer Gets $2,800 RTX 5080 Gaming PC for Just $2,000

A Costco customer managed to buy a high-end MSI gaming PC with an RTX 5080 graphics card for around $2,000, saving several hundred dollars on a system that originally carried a price close to $2,800.

The MSI Aegis ZS2 gaming desktop includes an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and 2TB of SSD storage. These specifications place the desktop among the most powerful prebuilt gaming systems currently available.

Missing Keyboard Leads to a Bigger Discount

A Reddit user shared that the display unit originally had a listed price of $2,800, although a rebate had already reduced the cost to $2,300. Costco then removed another $500 because the package did not include the bundled keyboard.

The final receipt showed a total close to $2,000 after taxes and other purchases, which still placed the gaming PC well below its original retail price. The discount became especially valuable because the RTX 5080 alone sells for around $1,300, while the Ryzen 9 9900X costs roughly $330.

The 32GB memory kit and 2TB SSD also add hundreds of dollars to the overall hardware cost. After including the motherboard, power supply, cooling system, case, and other components, building a similar desktop separately would likely cost much more.
