GIGABYTE RTX 5070 Ti Owner Says GPU Failed After 11 Days, Warranty Dispute Still Unresolved

by · OnMSFT

A GIGABYTE RTX 5070 Ti owner says his graphics card stopped working just 11 days after purchase, but months of warranty claims have still not resulted in a replacement or refund. The case has drawn attention because the GPU allegedly failed almost immediately, while GIGABYTE repeatedly returned the card despite continued problems.

Redditor “sasa_masa_99” says he bought the RTX 5070 Ti on May 13, 2026, before the card stopped working completely on May 24. He then sent the GPU to GIGABYTE under warranty, but the company reportedly returned it with a note saying that it had passed testing successfully.

However, the owner says the RTX 5070 Ti still did not work after it came back, so he sent the card to GIGABYTE again. During the second attempt, technicians reportedly changed the thermal paste, while the GPU returned without its original box and documents.

RTX 5070 Ti reportedly still fails after repeated testing

The owner also tested his system with an older RTX 2070, which reportedly worked without any problems in the same PC. According to his account, the third-party seller also confirmed that the RTX 5070 Ti showed problems and should receive a replacement.

The situation reportedly became more frustrating after the second return because GIGABYTE stopped responding to the owner’s emails. The dispute has now continued for several months without a confirmed replacement, refund, or repair.

Since the owner lives in Wrocław, Poland, local consumer protection rules could provide another route for resolving the dispute if direct communication with GIGABYTE continues to fail.
