Trump to attend dignified transfer of American soldiers killed in Iran conflict
by Tom Howell Jr. · The Washington TimesPresident Trump will travel to Delaware on Tuesday to observe the return of the remains of three U.S. soldiers killed in the Middle East conflict with Iran, the White House said Monday.
“President Trump will attend the dignified transfer of our fallen heroes tomorrow evening at Dover Air Force Base,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on social media. “The President and the entire White House are praying for their families.”
It is customary for presidents to attend dignified transfer ceremonies at Dover Air Force Base, the main transit point for flag-draped caskets of soldiers who are killed in conflict.
Two U.S. soldiers were killed Friday and Saturday at a base in Jordan from Iranian missile attacks, the military said.
The Pentagon identified them Monday as 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas.
A third American soldier was killed Saturday in northern Iraq during the controlled detonation of an Iranian drone.
Their deaths raised the American toll from the Iran war to 17.
Mr. Trump is pledging to seek payback for their deaths, as the U.S. and Iran tip back into all-out fighting after a ceasefire in late June and early July.

“Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!” Mr. Trump wrote Monday on social media. “This directive has been passed on to Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Daniel Caine, and every Leader in the Military.”
