by · The Washington Times

A former finalist on Britain’s “The X Factor” was charged with attempted murder after crashing her car into a fellow social media influencer Sunday in London, multiple news outlets report.

Gabrielle Carrington was charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, dangerous driving and drunk driving after crashing her car into pedestrians.

Fellow influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska ended up underneath the vehicle and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. A man in his 50s sustained serious injuries, and another woman had minor injuries, Deadline reports.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. Sunday outside a club in London’s Argyll Street in Soho.

London’s Metropolitan Police said no motive has been publicly confirmed and the incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.

Ms. Carrington remained in custody ahead of her first court appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

She found fame on the British reality TV music competition show in 2013 as part of the pop group Miss Dynamix. “The X Factor” aired in Britain from 2004 to 2018.
