U.S. poll shows younger generations are less patriotic than ever before

The poll was conducted for the Deseret News/Hinckley Institute. Sixty-nine percent of respondents described themselves as “somewhat” or “very” patriotic but only 56% of those aged 18-34 identified themselves as patriotic.
Millennials were born between 1980 and 1996, and Generation Z from 1997 to 2012.
The poll also revealed a gap between political parties, with 82% of Republicans identifying as patriotic, compared to 61% of Democrats.
The survey was conducted by Morning Consult in April among 2,057 registered U.S. voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
