Letter to the editor: Investigate Biden officials for lying to America
· The Washington TimesOPINION:
Despite having testified multiple times under oath to Congress from 2021 to 2024 that the U.S. border was “secure,” former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has now changed his tune. This week at Politico’s Security Summit, he expressed regret about the “broken” border.
If I’m not mistaken, isn’t lying to Congress a federal crime punishable by up to five years in prison?
Mr. Mayorkas needs to be the first of many of the Biden administration officials, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Joe Biden himself, to do prison time for gaslighting the American people. They told us the border was secure as they simultaneously allowed millions of the world’s most destitute, illiterate (and dangerous) individuals into the country.
This sparked what President Trump correctly labelled a “migrant crime wave,” which they deployed deliberately in an effort to weaken and destroy our way of life.
If the Trump administration wants to rectify this historic dereliction of duty backed by serial lying at the highest level of government, in addition to undertaking mass deportations, it must hold the perpetrators of this treasonous crime accountable.
To take the heat off U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (and all law enforcement, for that matter), the American people should be made to see clearly that the Biden administration created this national crisis on purpose — and the Trump administration is the one fixing it.
That should start with the arrest of those officials who were complicit in this national conspiracy to destroy our country. Lying under oath to Congress is the least of his crimes.
