White House says Trump’s election speech ‘will shock you’
by Jeff Mordock · The Washington TimesWhite House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Trump will deliver eye-opening remarks in his primetime speech Thursday night about election integrity.
“The findings that he is going to reveal in his speech with a little bit of honesty and a little bit of integrity — it will shock you if you have an honest eye listening to the president tonight,” Ms. Leavitt said at the White House press briefing.
“Everything he is saying will be backed up by facts and evidence that will be provided this evening,” she said.
Ahead of Mr. Trump’s remarks, some Democrats accused Mr. Trump of relitigating the 2020 election, which he has blamed on voter fraud. Officials who’ve investigated his claims have insisted there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud.
Democrats said Mr. Trump is again peddling baseless conspiracy theories about an election that occurred more than half a decade ago instead of focusing on what matters to voters in 2026.
“Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Something is really wrong with this guy. I think he actually needs to be checked out. Why does he continue to focus on a conspiracy theory related to a 2020 presidential election that every rational person in the United States of America knows he lost,” said House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, New York Democrat.
Ms. Leavitt pushed back, saying Democrats are downplaying election integrity and fraud.
“I think the American people will be relieved to hear what they are hearing from the president of the United States and his commitment to transparency and the focus on the integrity of our elections,” Ms. Leavitt said

“I think all Republicans and Democrats should recognize this issue should be a nonpartisan issue. If we don’t have safe and secure elections in our country, we cannot have a country,” she continued.
The White House has been tight-lipped about what Mr. Trump will say exactly in his speech, though CBS News, citing sources, said the president will unveil unreported allegations of Chinese meddling in U.S. elections.
