Anne Hathaway says she can’t be on ‘Hot Wings’ interview show because might induce early labor
by Juliet La Sala · The Washington TimesActress Anne Hathaway says her doctor advised her not to participate in a “Hot Wings” interview to promote her new movie because eating spicy chicken wings could induce early labor during her pregnancy.
“Hot Ones” is a YouTube interview series in which celebrities are asked questions as they eat increasingly hot and spicy chicken wings.
Ms. Hathaway, 43, said she had planned to take the chicken-eating challenge during the press tour for the screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2018 psychological romantic thriller novel “Verity,” which is out Friday.

“We did the first three wings for real, and then I switched to dummy wings. And then I thought that I was gonna be able to do the ’Hot Ones’ challenge to do press for this film because it just made sense,” she said Monday on the “Talk of the Townsends” podcast. “But then I got pregnant, and my doctor said I couldn’t do it because I might go into early labor.”
“Hot Ones,” created by Sean Evans, has been on YouTube since 2015 and has hosted Hollywood stars, including Jennifer Lawrence, Lorde and Keke Palmer. The series has been spoofed on “Saturday Night Live” twice.
“Verity,” also starring Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, is Ms. Hathaway’s fifth film to be released this year, including “Mother Mary,” “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “The End of Oak Street” and “The Odyssey.”
The Academy Award-winning actress is married to actor, producer and jewelry designer Adam Shulman. They have two sons.
