Letter to the editor: In defense of a single, new political party

· The Washington Times

OPINION:

Judging by everything that happens whenever a Democratic political figure gains a little political power, it is now the wise judgment of many Americans that Democrats should never again be allowed to gain political power.

If the Democratic Party were to be put out of business and the headquarters shuttered forever, America would be just fine. Actually, we would do much better than fine.

It is now quite clear the Democrats are the only thing holding America back and taking us places Americans don’t want to be taken.

Take Democrats out of the political mix and the United States will fill in the divisions among us and soar to new and even greater heights never seen before in its short, 250-year history.

The Republican Party seems to also have lost a good portion of its spine and heart lately.

One possible solution to the problems with both parties is to simply ’close’ them both. The new solo political party of unity could be called the American Party or the Patriot Party. This would erase the ease with which politicians and the media divide us along “party lines.”

Governing with only one American political party takes established roadblocks and potholes away from scheming politicians and media.
