From Presidential Security Job to €225m Cocaine Case: Who Is Musah Atta, Alias Kromo?

Musah Atta, popularly known as Kromo, is among four persons currently facing charges in Ghana over an alleged cocaine shipment from Ghana that was intercepted by French authorities.

The case has brought renewed attention to Atta’s background, including reports about his previous work in security and the circumstances surrounding his departure from the job.

Atta was arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) on September 14, 2026, and subsequently arraigned before the Accra High Court alongside Desmond Koranteng Curiel, alias Paul Kweku Yeboah or “Biggs”, Kweku Okyere and Jessica Hartog.

The four have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and the exportation of narcotic drugs. They have all pleaded not guilty.

The court has remanded them into custody pending further investigations, with the case adjourned to October 13, 2026.
