Pricier season tickets at nearly all Eredivisie clubs; Cheapest option €266 on average

Almost all Eredivisie clubs have increased the price of their cheapest season ticket. The ticket costs an average of €266 this season, slightly more than last year, according to an ANP analysis based on a survey of all clubs.

ANP looked at the cheapest standard season ticket of each club. Feyenoord is the only club where the cheapest ticket became more affordable. Last season, the cheapest standard season ticket cost €340. This season, it is €295. This is due to the introduction of a youth section for supporters up to and including the age of 21. ANP asked Feyenoord for a comment, but the club has not yet responded.

At Excelsior and the newly promoted SC Cambuur, the price remains the same.

The price for Telstar fans is increasing by almost half. Telstar played in the Eredivisie last year for the first time in nearly 50 years. “The prices had already been determined before we were promoted. Actually, the season tickets were too cheap for the Eredivisie last season,” the club said. Last season, a Telstar season ticket cost €165. This season, it costs €245. “Over the past year, we have invested heavily in the stadium and facilities for supporters, so we consider this increase justified.”

PSV has the most expensive season tickets. In Eindhoven, the cheapest season ticket costs €347.50. The club said that this amount is determined annually “in consultation with a sounding board group in which various supporter groups are represented.” PSV also said that fans receive sufficient return for their investment. “We have recently invested heavily in stadium facilities, and in our opinion, this ensures supporters get value for their money, regardless of sporting successes.”

After PSV supporters, Ajax fans pay the most. At the Amsterdam club, the cheapest season ticket costs €312.

At €185, ADO Den Haag has the cheapest season ticket. The club said that this was a very deliberate choice. ADO Den Haag is returning to the top tier for the first time in five years. “By keeping the threshold low and rewarding supporters for their loyalty, we have been able to grow loyal support step by step.”

With a season ticket, supporters gain access to all 17 home matches in the Eredivisie. This is usually cheaper than buying an individual ticket for all matches. The ticket also sometimes offers exclusive benefits or access to the club’s news channels.

The season tickets usually do not include a club’s matches in other leagues, such as the KNVB Cup or European competitions. However, season ticket holders often get priority in ticket sales for these matches. The price of a ticket can vary significantly by stand and target group, sometimes by hundreds of euros.
