Android’s Quick Share Adds Tap to Share Feature

by · Droid Life

As a part of the Pixel 11 launch, Google announced today that Quick Share is gaining a new tap to share feature.

Rolling out today to the Pixel 6 and newer, and coming soon to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8, you’ll soon be able to easily swap contact info or media by tapping your Android phone to another Android phone.

Google suggests you’ll only need to be on your phone’s home screen and then you’ll bring the two phones close together to get this started. By doing so, you’ll be able to instantly exchange contact information with someone. If you’d like to share photos or videos, you would need to open the Android Share Sheet (tapping the share button) and then bring the devices together.

We’ll let you know once we see it start hitting devices.
