WANA, April 29: At least five civilians, including four children and one woman, were seriously injured after mortar shells fired from across the Afghan border struck a residential area in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, according to security sources on Tuesday. Sources said the shells were allegedly fired by Afghan Taliban forces and landed on the house of local residents Karim Khan and Rahmatullah in the border area adjacent to Angoor Adda. The injured were immediately shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Wana for medical treatment. Security officials described the incident as an unprovoked attack on the civilian population.
