EAM S Jaishankar will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, the MEA said on Sunday. During his visit to Washington, he will also hold meeting with representatives of the incoming administration.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will attend the swearing-in ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump in Washington DC on January 20, a statement from the Centre said.

The invitation for Jaishankar’s attendance was extended by the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee. This visit is expected to further cement the diplomatic ties between the two nations as the incoming US administration begins its tenure.

During the visit, the EAM will also have meetings with representatives of the incoming administration, as well as some other dignitaries visiting the US on that occasion.
