390 Residents Evacuated as Thanlwin River Rises Above Danger Level in Hpa-an
Heavy rains in Hpa-an Township, Kayin State, have caused the water level of the Thanlwin River to rise above the danger level of 750 centimeters. As of 2:30 p.m. on August 11, the river level had reached 835 centimeters, prompting the relocation of 390 flood-affected residents living near the riverbank and in low-lying areas to two temporary relief camps, according to the Ministry of Information.
