In a scathing remark on building norms violation by real estate developers, the High Court of Karnataka has said that professional builders should know the building bye-laws and any deviation by them in construction of high-rise buildings “deserve to be dealt with sternly, to act as a deterrent in future, by assuming that such deviations are deliberate with an intention to earn profit.”
