At least 10 people have been killed after a fire ripped through a retirement home in the town of Villafranca del Ebro in northern Spain early this morning, the regional government of Aragon has said.

At least 10 people have been killed after a fire broke out in a retirement home in the northern Spanish town of Villafranca de Ebro, authorities said.

Two further people remain in a critical condition. The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated.
