Over 200 Nigerians evacuated from South Africa amid xenophobic attacks land in Lagos, greeted by officials and family, as support for reintegration is assured.

This was confirmed in a press statement signed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, on Wednesday.

The Minister also referred to the claim by the South African government that the violence is only directed at illegal immigrants as false.

Nigeria considered diplomatic measures against South Africa after renewed xenophobic attacks, while evacuation plans for affected citizens progressed.
