Trump and Rubio are considering firing Kimberly Guilfoyle as US envoy in Athens after reports of misconduct, with a decision likely soon.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has issued a public message of support for US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, amid controversy following an investigation by The Wall Street Journal into her activities in Southeastern Europe and after she allegedly said that the US had been involved in the ousting of the Bolojan government.

New Democracy general secretary Konstantinos Kyranakis has denied claims that US Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle threatened the Greek government during a March dinner.
