Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Four Israeli soldiers were killed and more than 60 people were injured Sunday in a Hezbollah drone attack on an Israeli army base, authorities said.

Earlier on Sunday, a large barrage of anti-tank missiles was fired towards Israeli troops in southern Lebanon on Sunday.

Israel is now at war with Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon — both Iran-backed militant groups — and is expected to strike Iran in retaliation for a missile attack earlier this month. Iran has said it will respond to any Israeli attack.

Israel's military said a Hezbollah drone had killed four soldiers at one of its northern bases, as it expanded its bombardments of Lebanon and troops battled militants across the border.

The attack, which took place late Sunday, is one of the deadliest incidents since the war began in October last year.
