Ngawun Dam breach affects over 6,700 people from more than 1,300 households in Laymyethna Township
The Ngawun Dam in Laymyethna Township, Ayeyawady Region, has suffered an embankment breach, affecting 6,747 people from 1,333 households, according to official sources. The breach occurred at Mile Post 25/3, causing floodwaters to inundate Wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, as well as Nyaungpinwae and Thakhutchaung village tracts. A total of 6,747 people from 1,333 households living in 1,320 houses have been evacuated as authorities intensify rescue and relief operations.
