President U Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by a high-level Myanmar delegation, visited the Shanghai Lingang Special Area on June 18 during his goodwill visit to China, according to official reports. The visit comes at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Shanghai Lingang Special Area is one of China's key economic and industrial development zones aimed at further integrating the country's economy with the global market. The area is designed to promote a higher level of economic openness and create an internationally competitive business environment.

At the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Mr Xi Jinping, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing  will pay a five-day state visit to China from June 15 to 19  according to a statement released by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
