A first-year-engineering student died after a lighting fixture collapsed due to wind at a Dandiya event held at MSVR Engineering College.

Police said wind brought down the arch, seriously injuring Sona Narayan Das, an Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) student. She was taken to a nearby private hospital, where she died during treatment.
