May 8 (UPI) -- Russia and Ukraine on Friday confirmed a three-day cease-fire and prisoner swap, which they said was agreed to after their leaders spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Russia and Ukraine confirmed a US-mediated three-day ceasefire and a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner swap. The deal covered the Victory Day period even as both sides reported fresh overnight attacks.
