A former lawmaker was arrested after allegedly shooting the head of a Nonthaburi government body outside Bangkok. The killing, days after a school massacre in the same province, has deepened alarm over gun violence in Thailand.

Aug. 10 (UPI) -- A former lawmaker from Nonthaburi province, which is still reeling from last week's school shooting, was arrested Monday after allegedly storming a local government office and shooting a local administrator dead, according to local reports.

A former lawmaker confessed to shooting a senior official at a government office over a money dispute, police have said. The incident came just days after Thailand's deadliest shooting in nearly four years.
