The missile, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is designed to carry various payloads for ranges greater than 1,500 km, an official readout said.

With the successful test of a long-range hypersonic missile, capable of carrying various payloads over distances exceeding 1500 km, India has entered the elite group of nations possessing advanced military capabilities.

The Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile was launched from a mobile articulated launcher. During the test, all sub-systems performed as per expectations and met the primary mission objectives.
