Thiruvananthapuram: Keralam government on Friday announced free bus travel for all women across the state on Kerala State Road Transport Corporation

Kerala will introduce free bus travel for women on ordinary KSRTC services from June 15 The scheme aims to improve mobility, reduce travel costs and support greater participation of women in education and employment.

The government has decided to fully compensate KSRTC for the revenue loss caused by the initiative. The scheme is expected to cost the state exchequer around Rs 800 crore annually, which will be transferred to KSRTC as compensation.
