Bengaluru Police have registered an FIR over allegations that a purification ritual was held at the Haldwani venue after Mallikarjun Kharge's rally. The complaint says the act carried a casteist message and police have begun an investigation.

A zero FIR was registered on Sept 4 against Uttarakhand BJP members for 'purification' after AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge's rally at a venue.

Kharge has written to Rajya Sabha Leader of House J P Nadda over the "purification" that took place after his rally in Haldwani last month.
