Supreme Court seeks responses from ECI and Centre after petitions alleging unilateral CEC-led decisions and immunity concerns in India’s election governance.

Even as two judges differed on the issue, both said the matter should be placed before the CJI. The bench also requested the CJI to explore the possibility of setting up a permanent 5-judge bench to decide constitutional issues.
