A push by fans to rename Nashville's airport for Dolly Parton appears to be taking flight just days after the country music icon's death.

The governor of Tennessee supports a proposal to rename Nashville International Airport as Dolly Parton International Airport.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and the CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority both came out in favor of the name change Friday. It's expected to come up at the authority's meeting next month.

Gov. Bill Lee proposed the name change just days after the icon died at age 80, echoing the wishes of more than 150,000 Parton fans who have signed an online petition to rename the airport.
