From The Hindu Archives, September 9, 1926: For the... race held on Saturday the 4th instant 12 birds owned by four members competed. Weather conditions and the moult prevented some members from joining in and others from sending more; the birds were race-marked and despatched by the Calcutta Mail on Thursday in charge of the liberator and were liberated at Tuni at 6:30 am on Saturday.

From The Hindu Archives, September 7, 1926: In accordance with the new policy of railway extension in the Punjab, a reference to which was made by the Governor while inaugurating the Kangra Valley Railway in May last, two other lines Shahdara Narowal and Sirhind Rupar Railways have been sanctioned which are the type of those cross connections to which the Governor referred as being essential for the comfort and convenience of passenger traffic.
