Fast-moving fires left a trail of destruction in the northwestern US city of Spokane, with officials reporting hundreds of structures reduced to cinders.

A wildfire driven by high winds jumped the Spokane River on Saturday afternoon, burning homes and quickly moving into the Indian Trail neighborhood.
