The age of all-electric Volkswagen California camper van life is finally here. VW was definitely way too late to the party to launch the first electric camper van, and we can't even say it developed the cutest. But it does finally have an official all-electric California camper van on the way to market. In fact, the all-new ID. California Cruise is even closer than expected, with deliveries slated to begin next year. And it's priced cheaper than any existing model in the midsize California camper van family.

Volkswagen is already bringing a rather outside-the-box California camper van concept to this year's Düsseldorf Caravan Salon, but it has no intention of stopping there. It will also introduce a prognostic concept that solves a modern mystery once and for all. It's called the ID. California Cruise, and it's a first look at a family of all-electric camper vans Volkswagen plans to roll out over the coming years.
