Passenger air service to Venezuela resumed on Thursday morning after ​seven years, with an American Airlines flight from Miami to Caracas.

The first direct commercial flight between the U.S. and Venezuela is scheduled to land Thursday in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, seven years after the U.S. ordered an indefinite suspension.
