Person of interest held in Brown University shootings
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -A person of interest is in custody after a shooter opened fire at Brown University over the weekend, killing at least two people and wounding nine others, officials announced. NBC News and the Washington Post, citing officials briefed on the investigation, reported the person of interest as Benjamin Erickson. Erickson, 24, has not been charged and has not been named as a suspect in the shooting. The attack took place Saturday at the Providence, Rhode Island, school at about 4 p.m., law enforcement said, prompting a shelter-in-place order that forced students and faculty to spend the night on campus.
