HAAL-NO
Erling Haaland likened to ex-Inter Milan stars Christian Vieri and Adriano but Man City teammate Julian Alvarez labelled a ‘better’ forward
by Sam May · talkSPORTErling Haaland has been likened former Inter Milan stars Adriano and Christian Vieri – but isn’t Manchester City’s best striker, says ex-Italy forward Antonio Cassano.
Haaland has had a bright start to life under Pep Guardiola, since joining City from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals in his opening six Premier League appearances, whilst netting back-to-back hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest at the Ethiad Stadium.
Former Juventus, AC Milan and Inter striker Cassano has drawn comparisons between Haaland and former Inter stars Vieri and Adriano.

Cassano, however, doesn’t believe Haaland is the best forward at Pep Guardiola’s disposal.
“He is special, I see a bit of Inter’s Adriano and has the progression of Vieri,” Cassano said as quoted by Football Italia.
“Haaland is very strong, he is a sort of Romelu Lukaku, but much stronger even if I think Julian Alvarez is better because he has more quality.”
Alvarez, 21, made the move to the Etihad Stadium from River Plate in January, and has netted twice in four Premier League outings.

The Argentinian forward had previously been in talks with Juventus, AC Milan and Fiorentina, before opting to join Guardiola’s side.
Adriano, a former Brazil international, is one of Serie A’s most iconic strikers and scored 74 goals in 177 appearances with the Nerazzurri.
Overall, he netted 77 goals in 180 Serie A appearances with Inter, Fiorentina and Parma.

Vieri, on the other hand, was arguably Italy’s best striker between the 90s and the 2000s.
He scored 142 goals in 264 Serie A clashes, including 23 in 49 matches with AC Milan.

Haaland will be looking to continue where he has left off so far, and add more goals to his tally.
Alvarez, looks to be a shrewd piece of business by Guardiola, and will also be hoping to reach double figures this campaign.
Both will also be keen to help steer City to their first ever Champions League trophy with City beginning their campaign at Sevilla on Tuesday night, live on talkSPORT.
