Two people in Pennsylvania have died as a result of measles, marking the first deaths from the highly contagious virus in the U.S. in 2026.

Pennsylvania recorded its first two deaths from measles in 35 years, and state health officials say that both individuals were unvaccinated.

Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Two people who were not vaccinated against measles died in Pennsylvania after contracting the disease, the state's health department reported.
