Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced late Sunday that he formally rescinded President Donald Trump's so-called anti-weaponization fund, in an apparent effort to remove the main obstacle stalling his nomination to head the Justice Department.

President Trump threatened to gear up for another push to implement his "anti-weaponization" fund if skeptical GOP senators do not approve Todd Blanche as attorney general.

Donald Trump said the anti-weaponization fund was dead as Republican senators continued to block Todd Blanche's confirmation. The stand-off has added to confusion over the fund and kept Blanche's nomination stuck in the Senate.
