Disney Parks Unveils Joe Biden Animatronic To Join Its Hall Of Presidents

by

Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom might be a believable escape to fantasy, but it’s its Hall of Presidents that bursts your wings and takes you back to reality. Since its inception in 1971, the attraction has displayed figures in the likenesses of US presidents to celebrate the nation’s heritage.
On Monday, the theme park shared the first look at its audio animatronic of 46th POTUS Joe Biden, which will take the spot of the moving Donald Trump sculpture. So far, there’s only a still image, but fans might discover more closer to the reopening of the Hall of Presidents.
Disney says that the Biden robot is engineered to recite the oath of office, recorded by the president himself for the display. Disney Imagineers are currently “putting the final touches on the show,” describes Disney Parks editorial content director Thomas Smith.
Already, the tribute has some admirable personal additions. On a table next to the Biden animatronic sits a pair of the president’s iconic aviator glasses; a vase with peach blossoms, the official flowers of his home state Delaware; and Amtrak tickets as a reminder of Biden’s commuting days.

As for where the Trump animatronic will go now that the 45th president’s term has ended, Disney discloses: “The Audio-Animatronics figure of former President Donald J. Trump will take its place on stage among those who have previously served.”
Smith says the attraction will “welcome back all the presidents” in August.
