Nov. 15 (UPI) -- House Speaker Mike Johnson said Friday he opposes calls from a bipartisan group of lawmakers to release a House Ethics Committee report on Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald Trump's choice for attorney general.

House Speaker Mike Johnson says that he will “strongly request” that the House Ethics Committee not release the results of its investigation into ex-Rep. Matt Gaetz.

Senators from both parties have sought to see the results of the yearslong inquiry into Rep. Matt Gaetz. The House speaker says that would breach protocol.

President-elect Donald Trump picked North Dakota Gov.
