New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat and a candidate for reelection, appointed another election candidate, New York Attorney General Letitia James, to lead an investigation into Cornell University.

Letitia James announced an active criminal probe into the alleged Cornell University gang rape after Gov. Kathy Hochul named her special prosecutor.
