· My Nintendo News

Takashi Tezuka, who directed classic Nintendo games including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, and Yoshi’s Island, has announced he is retiring from the company. Tezuka will retire from his role as an executive officer on 26th June, 2026. We wish him the best with his retirement. Hideki Konno (known for Mario Kart and Yoshi’s Island) and Kensuke Tanabe (who worked on Super Mario Bros 2 and 3, and the Metroid Prime series) both retired from Nintendo earlier this year.
